Identifying Characteristics

Adult Centipedes measure between 1-6 inches in length
They are light to dark brown in color with many legs making them appear hairy

Active Season

Centipedes are active year-round when living indoors but most active during Spring and Summer

Large Centipedes may bite if provoked, however, not with mouthparts but fang-like front legs
They feed on other insects including spiders

Cause for Concern

When Centipedes are found indoors it is often a sign that there is a moisture problem in the area
