Their eggs are small and clear, about the size of a pinhead
Adults are roughly the size of an apple seed
Bed Bugs typically live in box springs, mattresses, and in or under other regularly used furniture. They can even live under carpeting, on window treatments, inside of books, and inside electrical outlets
Other signs of an infestation include finding brown, black, or red stains from feces and their left behind brown shells or clear eggs along mattress seams
Only 30-40% of the population show a visual reaction to Bed Bug bites, in addition to them being nocturnal, it is highly possible that a home or property may be infested without your awareness
They are called a “hitchhiker” bug as they will climb on or into a bag, clothing, or other belongings and are unknowingly relocated very easily
Put loose clothing and bedding (except for fitted sheet) into the dryer for 20-30 minutes on high heat. This will eliminate any Bed Bugs or eggs living in or on these items.
Remove any pets from your home. If you have a fish tank, turn off the filter and cover the top of the tank with a large towel.
Seal any open food containers or place them in a cupboard or closed space
Clean up and dispose of any clutter in your home if possible, specifically around and underneath your furniture and bed. These locations can harbor Bed Bugs and eggs, and are very hard for us to treat
Be prepared to leave the home for 3 hours after the technician arrives and inspects
Because Bed Bugs are only brought out of hiding by smelling CO2 and body heat emitted by humans, be prepared to continue using bedrooms as normal after treatment to quickly eradicate them.
