    Identifying Characteristics

    • Lesser Grain Borers measure ⅛ inches in length
    • They are red-brown to dark brown in color
    • Adults are cylindrical shaped and the larvae are thick and grub-like in appearance
    • They are generally found in cabinets and pantries but also can find their way into books and wood

    Active Season

    • Lesser Grain Borers are found indoors making them active year-round

    Interesting Facts

    • Opposed to most stored product pests, Lesser Grain Borer larvae can feed both internally and externally of the food source (grain, flour, rice)
