Identifying Characteristics

Sawtoothed Grain Beetle adults and full grown larvae measure 3 millimeters in length
Their adults are red-brown in color and their larvae are a very light yellow
Their body has 3 distinct segments and their antennae are elbowed
Usually found in cabinets and pantries or anywhere food products are stored

Active Season

Sawtoothed Grain Beetles are found indoor making them active year-round
Their eggs are laid inside food where they feed as they grow into larva

Interesting Facts

In preferred conditions, 7 generations can be produced in 1 year
Adult Sawtoothed Grain Beetles have been found to live over 3 years
