Japanese Beetles: What you need to know

Identifying Characteristics

Interesting Facts

  • As the name implies, these insects came to America from Japan in the early 1900‚Äôs, purportedly in wooden packaging crates

Cause for Concern

  • A single beetle does not eat much; it is the group feeding by many beetles that results in severe damage

Town & Country Can Help

Customer Preparation

  • Most Japanese Beetle treatments are completely exterior. If an interior treatment does need to be applied, a light spray around windows and doors may leave a very light film which should be left on for as long as possible to prevent entry. People and pets will need to remain out of the house for 1 hour
